Andre Sardone creates unique sculptural works in a mud brick studio in Mandurang, just outside of Bendigo. Living surrounded by box ironbark forest, the natural world influences and informs Andre’s work, which has an organic aesthetic. With a focus on sustainability, his art practice is based around using predominately waste and reclaimed materials.
‘Romano’, is a part of a series, carved and shaped out of steel plate using mainly angle grinders with different blades. This series of works evolved through the COVID lockdowns, partly inspired by the masks used by doctors in pandemics of old.
