Palliative Care Week and International Nurses Day

On Monday 12 May we proudly recognised two important milestones — Palliative Care Week and International Nurses Day.

Palliative Care Week is a time to reflect on the importance of specialised, person-centred care for people living with life-limiting illnesses. It’s also an opportunity to highlight the incredible work of those who go above and beyond to help make moments matter — our nurses, care staff, volunteers, and supporters.

Coinciding with this week is International Nurses Day (May 12) — a chance to celebrate the dedication, skill, and compassion of our nursing team, who are at the heart of what we do. Their unwavering commitment ensures that individuals and families in our community receive the support they need with dignity, respect, and kindness. Our highly skilled nursing staff hold post graduate specialist qualifications in palliative care, they not only support individuals, carers, but share their knowledge and skills with other clinicians.

To mark the occasion, we were delighted to receive generous support from Estia Health, who provided a delicious breakfast for our nursing and care team in recognition of their hard work.

Please consider donating today. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help us continue to provide care that prioritizes quality of life, respect, and compassion. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those facing life-limiting illnesses.
