Congratulations to PCSE volunteer Magda Lane
Palliative Care South East is incredibly proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of long-time volunteer Magda Lane, who was named the Cardinia Shire 2025 Australia Day Citizen of the Year.
Magda received this prestigious honour in recognition of her outstanding dedication to her community — including an extraordinary 36 years of voluntary service with Palliative Care South East. Her unwavering commitment, compassion, and generosity have left a lasting impact on the lives of countless clients and families facing life-limiting illness.
Magda has consistently gone above and beyond in her role, offering not just practical support but also emotional connection, dignity, and kindness to those in their most vulnerable moments. Her contribution reflects the very heart of what palliative care represents — making moments matter.
Outside of her work with PCSE, Magda has also been actively involved in numerous other community initiatives across the Cardinia Shire, demonstrating a lifelong passion for helping others and strengthening her local community.
We are deeply honoured to have Magda as part of the PCSE family and are thrilled to see her service recognised at such a high level. Her legacy inspires both staff and volunteers alike and highlights the essential role volunteers play in supporting palliative care services.
